great so farNov 11, 2012
My 16month old daughter can't play with the power strip anymore for the past couple months! Before this product, she kept trying to plug in the other end of the cell phone charger into an unused outlet on power strip.
This cover comes in 3 pieces: inner top, inner bottom, outer top cover. Adjustable size to fit most power strips.
1. Place power strip into inner bottom piece.
2. Snap on inner top piece to inner bottom piece.
3. Slide outer top cover over the other pieces until smallest setting allowed.
Openings are very narrow, allowing only cords through the slit and not small fingers. Cover is also large enough for power strip to sit deep inside, nearly impossible to access unused outlets on power strip.
My fingers are very small. My ring finger is a size 3. I can barely reach the on/off button of power strip unless I pull the cords up and then I can barely reach the button. Also, my power strip sits sideways due to my cell phone charger plug. This makes the power strip even less accessible to poking fingers.
A possible downside is if you need to regularly plug and unplug things into the power strip. You need to remove outer top cover to do so.
Otherwise, I think this is a great product.
9/21/2013 update: My daughter is now two years old. Although she is still curious of wall outlets and plugs-plugged-into-wall-outlets, she never looks at this outlet cover. I admit that my daughter isn't persistent regarding these type of things, so I don't know if this is indestructible. But, its worth a try? If your child is persistent, then you'll probably need to do something far more extreme! Like drilling holes in a metal box with a lock.
it serves it purpose.Oct 28, 2013
I bought this for my elderly grandmothers house as she likes to unplug things and doesn't remember doing it. The slot is wider that I thought it would be, you can unplug the cords and an adult can reach in without opening it and plug it back in. A child might have an easy time getting their fingers in. My grandmother sees this and she just keeps walking, she doesn't even bother with it.
Fit AnythingJul 29, 2013
By Steven W. Sceranka
This power strip cover extends really far and is bulky enough to fit nearly any surge protector you have.
It may be too bulky to hide behind most furniture.
The opening on the top is large enough to slip most plugs through which is good but that means my daughters arm is still small enough to fit as well.
Taking it apart to slide the surge protector in is more difficult than expected. However I see that as a plus as well, my daughter definitely won't be getting this open anytime soon.

Wish there were wider versions tooJan 15, 2013
Great product. Makes me feel safe with my little one starting to crawl. I just wish they made them for wider outlet covers. I had to go buy a new outlet just so it would fit.

No goodDec 10, 2012

This didn't work as I expected. It doesn't fit over out outlet strip. It was a waste of money. .
